Hampshire: major extension to miniature Palladian villa

Hampshire: major extension to miniature 18th century Palladian villa.

Detailed historical analysis revealed a four-room miniature Palladian villa, hidden by later and now derelict nineteenth-century additions. Preservation and restoration of the unique villa allowed a mirrored extension to the rear, linked by a double-height hall with a roof terrace above with fine views across the county to the distant solent. While the mirrored extension follows the design of the original, subtle differences make clear the distinction between old and new.
